Our Vancouver limousine company recently received an industry newsletter from YVR Vancouver International Airport informing commercial vehicle operators on policies and procedures to be followed prior to, during and after the 2010 Olympics – a period ranging from February 1st to March 23rd.

Here’s an excerpt we thought important to pass on:

NEW – Staffed Ground Transportation Counters (GT Counters) will be located inside both the International and Domestic terminals to assist with curbside callups.

UPDATE – A limited number of curb spaces at both the International and Domestic terminals will be available for passenger pcikup by any commercial vehicle operators that are currently within our decal system and utilizing vehicles that are no longer than stretch limousines.

UPDATE – A dedicated shuttle zone (Courtesy Shuttle Zone, green awning), located at level 2 of International arrivals will be utilized by all parking, courtesy and hotel shuttles for both pickup and drop-off, including airline crews.

All commercial vehicle pickups (with the exception of YVR licensed taxis, Aerocar sedan/limousine, Pacific Coach and shuttles) will drive into the commercial vehicle holding area and use the holding area direct phone lines to check in with GT Dispatch. Only when passenger(s) are ready to exit the terminal will the GT Counter notify the commercial vehicle operator (via audio and/or display board text) and the customer (verbally) of the assigned pickup location.

We hope this helps clarify the arrivals’ procedure and how to connect with your Vancouver airport limousine driver for the period covering February 1st to March 23rd .
